Hold on a minute, Mr Vague.

You're the one who took it that I was directing it your way, initially.

Bottom line is this: Wilshere is our player, I support him and am most interested in getting the most quality minutes out of him as possible.

How to do that is the tricky thing.

You are lot more worried about what yourself and other posters have said in the past than I am.

Find exactly what I said and prove otherwise. Or bore off.

CH says minor groin and Bilbao, if not Hertha. Same as Ogbonna and Noble (except for the nature of the injury)

Re-writing history.

Nice.

Wilshere is and has always been quality, honestly not sure if there were ever people arguing with that.

I just thought saying his injury problems were behind him and that the two years before we signed him were perfectly fine for the average player (he was seriously injured with a repeat injury a year before we signed him) was some seriously wishful thinking.

We are certainly in better shape to give him carefully minutes this season as compared to last.

Manuel 10.10 Sun Jul 28 can you name a wide player for WHU who in their debut season scored 9 league goals, contributed 4 assists and created a further 10 big chances?

Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
Also heard that Sanchez looked good, if he can cut out getting caught on the ball close to our goal, he'll be an asset.

Wilshire is a sublime player, that's why it was always worth taking a chance on him. I'm not getting quite so much stick about it now.

Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
Looking back on the two seasons before ours, Wilshere had decent runs after limiting his minutes initially.

Not idea if that would work.

Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
We can do two things with Wilshere

Play him till he breaks like we did last season

Or pick and chose moments.

Very sadly you are spot on.

It's almost like a cruel tease watching him play so well but at the back of your mind you know his next injury recurrence is only just around the corner

Payet's debut was against Southend. He scored from a brilliant free kick and looked head and shoulders above everyone else

Not sure whether Fredericks was injured or they were saving him for the game midweek (Hertha Berlin innit?).
Or just protecting him from the ire of the ferocious Fulham fans

Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
Yep, think it's inevitable JohnSON will be a starter soon enough, may even be at LB.

Sven Roeder 10:54 Sun Jul 28
Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
He has had a season to get used to the physical side of Premier league football so should be better this season.
Having players like Fornals and a fit Lanzini (& hopefully Wilshere) should help him as said.
Think teams doubled up at times as they saw him as our biggest threat.

Am also getting the impression that Johnson might leapfrog over Fredericks and Zaba to be first choice right back before the season is too old.

Manuel 10:52 Sun Jul 28
Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
It's a bit of a back handed compliment, of course he's a very talented player but feel he could offer more. I stand by he will be benched, he's not good enough to guarantee a start no matter what. We will likely have Antonio on the bench to begin with and he will get his chance if players like Anderson don't perform. All that said, injuries will no doubt inevitably mean our best fit players will always play.

fraser 10:46 Sun Jul 28
Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
Anderson at his best was fucking sublime last season and when he was looked absolute class.

But when he was poor, was very poor.

I suppose that's what you get from him, if he was consistently at his best level doubt he'd still be with us

Doubt he'll be benched, in fact all our other options should help him as teams won't be able to concentrate on starving him of the ball, was a bit easy last season at times as we tried to play through him all the time.

Manuel 10:10 Sun Jul 28
Re: Fulham vs West Ham United @ 3pm (Friendly)
For whatever Anderson cost us we need a lot more than 'some nice touches' He needs to step up this season and get more of an end product going on, or he'll be benched with the options we have now (until the injuries kick in that is)

Let’s be honest, Haller hasn’t pulled up any trees since he’s been here.

Waste of money.
